Holidays on the farm for children from 6 to 16 years

The Reiterhof Salzetal is situated in a scenic location, right at the end of the spa park of Bad Salzuflen. The children are accommodated in colorful, rustic 6-bed rooms depending on the age. You get three meals a day and are cared for around the clock.

Younger guests receive 2 hours of qualified riding lessons in dressage, jumping and terrain training in the riding hall as well as on the large outdoor area and the 25 km riding ground.

A museum of contemporary art and design. Five galleries with a total area of approximately 2000 square meters offer space for temporary exhibitions. Another gallery area on the first floor of the center serves among other things. The collection of Marta Herford. Marta Gastronomy is located in a gallery open to the river Aa. An appealing offer for around 60 guests invites you to relax in a creative ambience.

Animal park Waldfrieden, Herford

The great experience for small people to play, caress and be amazed!

Highlight in the small animal park in Herford, East Westphalia, the park is separated from the visitors by a moat and an elastic net mesh.

In addition to domestic animals such as alpacas, sheep, goats and donkeys, there are also cranes, owls, foxes, parrots and parakeets.

The monkey house houses an exhibition where, for example, chicks can be seen during hatching.

Functional animal husbandry is also shown in the demonstration rabbit breeding boxes, the pig's bovine and the guinea-pigs.


Hermanns monument, Detmold

In 1838 Ernst von Bandel began to build a Hermannsden monument on Mount Grotenburg near Detmold.

Only 37 years later he was able to finish it. From the Hermannsdengalerie Gallery, which commemorates the victory of Germanic tribes over three Roman legions in 9 AD, you can enjoy a magnificent view over the Teutoburg Forest, the Lippische Hügelland and the Lipper Bergland.

National museum for folklore

In the largest open-air museum in Germany with an area of 80 hectares and more than 100 buildings from all social strata, you can visit historical facilities and architectural styles. Special exhibitions, museum shops, picnic areas and three restaurants.


Externsteine, Horn-Bad Meinberg

The external stones at Horn are the most important natural and cultural monument of the Teutoburg Forest. Five vertical sandstone cliffs rise almost 40 m high and are reflected in a romantic pond. They are flanked by smaller rocks. In the Middle Ages the outermost places around the legends and myths were a significant pilgrimage site. The Kreuzabmermerelief, carved in the rock, was built around 1130 and is considered to be the oldest monumental open-air sculpture in northwest Germany. The rock formations and rare forestry communities that surround them are designated as nature reserves.


Adlerwarte Berlebeck

At the Adlerwarte Berlebeck you can admire the imposing birds of prey.

Daily at 11 am and 3 pm you have the opportunity to experience breathtaking flight demonstrations in the district of Berlebeck, the beautiful residential town of Detmold.

The Adlerwarte Berlebeck houses 120 birds of prey in 38 species. Especially in the spring, special attractions. Experience how the chicks beg for food. You can watch the cute springballs almost as you grow.

The complex offers a program for the whole family: a panoramic terrace, a large playground and the Freigehege with its Skudden sheep, as well as a teaching and info center with a classroom of the very different kind.
